No, I don’t mean May Day like Help!!! That was not a call for help and I do not need a life preserver. I was merely thinking that tomorrow is May and I’m wondering where April went. All I know is that it flew by!
I’m doing fine with my new eating style for the most part. It’s not always easy and last week was my hungry week and most women understand that, but I kept the slips up to a minimum. I was up a pound the whole week, but I’m not stressing about it. I still tried very hard to eat my 4 or 5 small meals a day, combining protein and carbs – the right carbs at different times of the day. I had my first several egg white omelettes with spinach and salsa and liked them. Kept me full until the next meal.
My rheumatoid arthritis likes the new way of eating (I’m trying not to call it dieting). Without the processed foods or the pastas or bread (WAAAAA!!!) my joints are definitely not so inflamed and moving is easier and less painful. I’ve been taking less medication already and not noticing more pain.
I’ve been hiking most every afternoon, or yesterday did about three hours of yard work and today we walked a bit and then I rode the recumbent bike. I’m working toward upping my exercise a bit because I want to start at my trainers gym within a month and begin taking her classes. I believe upping my activity to that extent will make a big difference.
In the meantime, I’m enjoying having my clothes fit better and I’ve even put on a couple of pairs of pants that I haven’t worn in a couple of years. I’m also enjoying my new grandson – he’s a great incentive to trying to stay healthy:)
